Spirorbid explosion

For the past week I've been noticing an increase of tiny white spots on the back wall of my 55 gallon. This morning I got close with magnifying glass and determined they are spirorbids but I'm confused as to why they are populating all of a sudden. The tank has been set up in my house for about 3 months but I bought it used and all the sand, rock, equipment, fish, and even water were transferred over from the previous owner so it's basically an established tank. I recently added more purchased pods into my HOB fuge and I wonder if they came in there? If not, is it a sign that my water chemistry is changing and that I need to examine this as a problem?
Lastly, is there any fish or critter that can benefit from eating spirorbids? I have a green mandarin in that tank and I figured that would be good food for him but apparently he's not eating them because they are multiplying fast.
Is there a blenny that would like them?

Don't worry, they seem to populate newer tanks but their numbers should decrease as the tank matures .... even though everything came from an established tank.

Spirobidae Worms do not indicate a problem. The opposite actually. Most species catch waterborn bacteria so their presence is an indication that your biologic filtration is thriving.
