Nice pics! Do you have a full tank shot? There is a few things you should be aware of: I am sorry to say this but your starfish will die sooner or later. They require large tanks with a lot of live rock. I would take it back to LFS if you still can... I believe it is an elegance coral on the first pic? If it is, it should be located on the sand. It may get damaged if you keep it on the rock. It is a very delicate coral. Your Blue Tang will grow fast and he will outgrow your tank. Other than that welcome and good luck!

no cycle rock in seperate container like a big tuber ware container. use a PH and a heather. and let sit till ammonia trates and trites all become 0.
the order will be ammonia will become 0
then nitrites will become 0
then nitrates become 0.
im doing 70lbs LR in a 30 gallon tank for a reef
and another maybe 20LBS for my fowlr. this is the batch in seperate tubber ware.

I would go out and get one of those tupperware tubs and just let the rock sit in if for a while with a heater and a powerhead. Change out about 1 gallon a day.Let it sit until ther ammonia is a 0 probably take a month or so Then add it into the tank. Your looking at about 55-75 more pounds of live rock. Also
I would get a sump or something of that sort. Power filters are really not the best filtration especially for a reef. A sump/refugium would give you better water quality as well as better filtration and a larger volume of water for bacteria.

I use a Marineland Canister filter & power filter both on my tank. Im working on a sump/refuge but havent decided on exactly what I want yet.
