Splitting anemone

Has anyone had this happen ? Is it going to be ok or will it die due to this. It has been in my tank for about 9 months now and growing very well. It was only about 3 - 4 inches accross when I first got it and now it will stretch almost accross the width of my tank ( probably about 12 inches). Here are a few pictures of it. My clowns are still in it and it still looks good except for the guts hanging out and it splitting. The first pic is just about 3 months after getting it.

This is generally a good thing! Bubble tip anenomes, and I believe some other species as well, can self replicate by splitting. They do this usually when tank conditions are good, so that probably means you're doing something right! The two halves will heal up in a week or so, and your clownfish will have a vacation home. Those are nice pictures, by the way. I've never seen photos of it happening.

When I bought it the LFS said it was a green bubble tip anemone. Thanks for the info about this. Everyone talks about adding this and that stuff to their tanks and I do not add anything. I feed Formula One food. (2 cubes a day) and a couple times a week put in some Marine Snow. Water gets changed about 10 gallons every other week. 5 gallons discipate and I take 5 out. No RO water, I just let it run with a pump for about 1 - 2 days and add salt. I do have a lot of coraline growth on my tank walls. It was growing so bad that I took a razor blade and had to take it off the front of the tank. That was about 4 weeks ago and now there are some spots growing again. I do clean the front and one side daily. I will post a pic of the whole tank tomorrow. Thanks for the all the info.

i just wanted to let you know that on my 46 gallon tank i also used a razor blade to clean the coraline off and it ended up leaving many scratches on the glass and looked terrible. so you might want to find another way. this is the scraper i use i got it at my lfs..

I tried about 3 different kinds of scrapers from the LFS but none would work. This stuff was really hard. I was very careful to watch how I was using the razor blade.
