Splitting ricordea mushrooms

I know these mushrooms can be split because i've done it before but now they are attached to rocks and big enough to be split again. How do i, if i can, get them off the rocks without damaging them?

Chip the rock carefully beneath where they are attached.

I see..... but what if they are attached like in a hole of the live rock

Bust the rock all around them, but do it so you don't injure them.
