I find it funny that you say he should grow up, when you guys are just yelling at him and calling him a liar and other names. It makes sense that the sponge could grow taller than the water line. Trees grow not only at the top, but also the bottom, if that were not the case, trees would all look as thin as bamboo their whole life. The bottom of the sponge is growing, pushing the top out of the water, and the part that got pushed above water has died. The only thing that seems too good to be true is the growthrate, but hey, I hope that he IS telling the truth b/c that would be pretty cool to be able to come across more of these corals.

Well, enough trying to defend the guy...you know Mr. B, I like playing devil's advocate, but man, you make it hard for one to try and think of ways to back you. For all those out there who think they're witty, get off the bandwagon and try to fight for his side...that will definitely revive this thread.

I have spent way longer than I care to remember reading this thread and all I can say is.......THUMBS DOWN!!! I am upset now for having wasted such a long period of my life. I will now sleep and hope that this never comes back to haunt me again.
P.S.- That is the funniest load of crap I have ever heard. I think Mr. Bubbles shark got loose again.
