spots on the glass

all on the back walls of my tank and a little bit on the front walls is what looks like finger prints. i cant really tell what color it is. but its not really green and its not really red. it looks almost brown. what kind of algea could this be? and should i jsut rub it off with a magnet thing

tru. i had diatoms on my cc and lr but its gone for the most part now. could it have left the cc and lr and now went on to the glass? will it go away on its own? i only have 1 power head. will another one help?

well how old is the tank
size
and how many gph does the powerhead move?
and whatever happened to u changing ur screenname back>?

i guess they wont let me change it back? idk how to go about doing it. im still upset about it but whatever.
tank is a little older then a month...almost 2
44 g with sump
maxi jet 900 230
i also noticed TINY...very tiny...white little hairs on the glass too.... what could all this be on the glass? daitoms still?

hmmmm... if ts a faded brown its most likely diatoms. new tank algae blooms
not sure about the hairs. look close at them. look like jellyfish?

If you're asking about what Ryan means when he says "15x turnover", then he's referring to water movement. The combination of GPH of your return pump (Factoring in headloss) and GPH of powerheads, closed-loop systems, etc, and maybe even a pump for a skimmer should equal 15x the gallons of your system.
Thus, if you have 100 gallons, your "Turnover" should be around 1500GPH.
It's my understanding that adequate water flow thoughout the tank contributes to keeping algea in check.
