Spreading Coralline

I am finally starting to get some coralline growing and want to make sure that I keep it moving. I have read the advise of rubbing what is on the rocks with a toothbrush and/or scraping what is on the glass to spread out the spores.
My question is whether I should turn off the pumps and let it all settle, or keep them moving? Also, what about the skimmer, on or off and for how long?

to answer your question drea, most fish stores sell it as well i bet you can find it on the net, if you want it soon and you support your LFS have them order it, its pretty common

How long have you been using it and how old are the rocks. I just bought some the other day. Just curious.
How did you apply it, daily?

this rock has been used for over a year, but you will see effects within a couple months(when i got this rock is was a bit purple and green, but i started using the purple up and BOOM!! its purple, i add 7ml daily, i have a 75 gallon, its 5ml per 50 gallons....ive ran out and I am in the process of hypo, so it will be a while before i get the bright pink and purple back, so i dont add it right now...

my bad... i did manage to pick it up for like 13 bux at pets warehouse... what about lighting? will it still spread w/o it?
