Yeap, I spend the day at the local public garden today. Wow was it nice. The air was thick with sweet bloosoms and moisture from the lake. The birds were singing and colors were out. Nice way to welcome Spring in.

Oh yes and my pond pump quit working sometime this winter. I love playing in th pond. Luckily mine is only 220 gallons. But last year I found a snake living in it...not thrilled about going in now. I do keep a leaf net over the pond because we have problems with blue herons eating the fish, so hopefully I just have to trim back dead plant material and escapee leaves.

Ye, we had some problems with the hawks and owls eating our fish, so instead of buying a leaf net (which I think obscure the view to much) I took some PVC, and cut them into about foot long sections (an even number of them), and drilled holes at the top of each section, and pushed them into the ground around the pond, and strung fishing line between each pair of PVC section. This has stopped all predation in the pond, but the frog's can still come and go as they please.
I get snakes in my pond fairly often, but they are always garter snakes.

Great picture Bang! I love being able to view wildlife such as deer that are somewhat elusive (even when its not hunting season, LOL)

Spring won't arrive here in northern Wisconsin for a few more weeks. It will usually still take around 3-4 weeks for our crocuses to start blooming.
I walked on our lake today. There is still well over a foot of ice on it.

It's here in AZ...I can tell cuz my turtle is out of hibernation, and no one is outside as much. Winter it was a nice 70 during the day, now it's 90. O well means I get to go swimming

Good timing, I spent all day yesterday cleaning out my pond and filters for the coming summer. The fisies are as happy as can be. I too have a cargo net over the top arched with pvc pipes, caught a racoon trying to have koi dinner.
My pictures are in the archives somewhere on here, couldn't find them.
