Can someone please tell me what these are?
I have tried finding a picture of one but just haven't been able to. mainly pictures I will find that have sps are in a multi coral picture.
I'm just curious, because after some reading I dont want to buy one if i'm not ready for it yet.
Thanks

SPS stands for small polyp stony coral. SPS is not a particular coral, but a generalized type of coral.

SPS stands for small-polyped stony corals. certain genera of corals, like Acropora, Montipora, Millepora, Pocillopora, and Porites fall into this category. they are characterized as hard corals having small polyps (and therefore small mouths). usually, LPS (or large-polyped stony) corals have larger mouths and can accept larger pieces of food. anyway, hope this helps...
