Sps Dead or Alive?

For the most part, the coral is dead. However, you may have some success if you attempt to frag healthy branches on the left side of the coral (from what I can see, the left side seems alive). Unfortunately, the chance that a frag makes it is very small. Shipping can stress out a coral to death, although some corals show this stress differently than others. Shut down illnesses, such as Rapid tissue necrosis, can show up different with corals -- the necrosis can be isolated to one area of the coral, or the entire coral can start to shut down at the same time (meaning that little stands of tissue are still intact in the coral).
As unfortunate as it is, more than likely you will wake up to a white colony.

Well got home from vacation today and the SPS coral looks much different. It still is brown but it now brown all over and there is no real white spots like in the picture last time. It has a reddish tent on the right side of the coral now. I am hoping it is fighting back but it may be dead not sure. I will post a picture when I return home tonight.

It doesn't appear to be cyano or corraline from what I can tell. I will try and get a good picture tonight. When I got home from vacation my timer had broke on my lights so my dad controlled the lighting and did not leave it on in specific times and I have about 4 inch deep hair algae everywhere now but thats leading to another thread about that later haha. I will try and get some good shots tonight.

Here are the updated photos of the SPS I have not seen any type of polyp extensions yet, although I have been on vacation for 8 days. These pictures are about 9-10 days after being put in the tank. You can see it has definatly changed colors I don't know if this is a good thing or bad?

From what I can see, it's dead. The brown growth is most likely diatoms.
