SPS frag question

If I had frags that were placed on a nice cultureing cork would they be alright to set some SPS corals down on my sand base or is that just a bad idea help???

i personaly wouldnt. you coudl do it, but they get knocked over easily. also, not sure how much light or how deep your tank is, but more is almost always better.

depends on what they are and how much light you have. I have a montipora digitata frag (mounted to an aragonite base) on the sandbed. It likes it there but with 175w bulbs and a 19" high tank I wouldn't put any of my acro's there.

i have a 90 with 2 250 halides and yes i was wondering about mounting frags and setting them in the sand

i put all my frags on the sand, but i have a 250w on a 30g.
im sure they'll be fine on the sand bed. maybe build a frag rack using eggcrate and suction cups that will go right in your tank.

yeah. eggcrate woudl be a useable option. i have a bit on the bottom of my 40 breeder holding up my ORA duncan. with an 80X turnover rate, the sand can get kinda disturbed soemtimes, so i have it there for security and it works well.
but in a 90 gallon tank, i would start the coral in the middle of the tank and work yoru way up.
