Well there is another fellow that has some birdsnest.....
don't know if I would attempt one though and then some monticap. But will wait and see what happens with this one first.

This one I have right now was given to me free. It looks as if there white is growing over the old stuff. Dont know if this is good or not.
The birdsnest he said I could have free the monticap I would have to pay 10.00 for a frag of it.
I am going to see what happens with what I have right now then I might take him up on his offer for the other ones. This other guy lives out of my town only 30 min away.

well when i look at this frag. the dead areas that were killed by the algae there is white growth coming out of it and spreading over the whole thing. i have even noticed a difference this morning. i also read on one of the posts here that you can get growth coming out like mine is doing. it being white has me concerned but again tonight when i use the magnifying glass i see the purple/blue areas of where the polyps would come out. i cannot wait to see what becomes of this little frag, its pretty tiny.

im trying to understand on meaning that its white. so were it is white when you have the main lights on do you see polyps???? if so then its doing great. if not then it may be bleaching.

Update on sps is, its gone. It had no signs of polyps and was just getting whiter by the day, but thats okay i new that when he gave it to me.
So I have a few questions for you Nissan.
What can you tell me about plate corals?? I love the pink ones.
Have you ever had the two spot bimaculatus blenny?? gosh they are adorable
and finally the porcelan crab, will they fight with a pom pom crab??
The reason i ask this, there is a local reefer here that is putting an order together TODAY and i want to order some stuff with his order.

If you are talking about the Montipora capricornus plate coral they are one of the easier of the SPS coral to keep. The grow pretty fast and don't need the intense lighting other high end SPS need.
The Ecsenius bimaculatus is a wonderful little fish. I have the tailspot Ecsenius stigmatura
which is about the same. They are herbivorous and will feed off of algae in the tank, algae sheets and should be fed a food containing marine and blue-green algae. Great fish IMO just be sure you have some type of top to keep it in.
On the porcelain crab here is a little info from reefkeeping magazine.
"Neopetrolisthes spp. are most often found in association with anemones, especially those from the genus Stichodactyla, and usually share their host with anemonefish; while other species in the family are found in association with various corals and soft corals. Other genera within the family are not often found living in association with symbiotic partners. While porcelain crabs are not difficult to keep, those that associate with anemones should be avoided by inexperienced aquarists due to the difficulty in keeping many host anemones."
Seems like if you want one you should really get some more information on them before committing.
Hope that helps a little.
Here is a pic of my Tailspot blenny chillin in the Ricordea.

Thanks for the reply. The plate coral I was talking about my fault was the LPS type not sps type, but i found out they get to quite a size, beautiful though but not for my little tank.
As for the crab, I found out that if you have rics they also will host in them as they are close to an anemone. I bought one the otherday and his home is my huge orange ric, he just loves hanging out in and under it. I took a pic of him inside it will have to post it.
Thanks for the info
Debbie

I put it on the side line for now, going to get some awesome zoas tomorrow from a guy here. I am quite excited as we don't get zoas like this here, only the common ones.
I really love my ricordeas and zoas, now i just have to order this new light and as I replied to your suggestion about the Nova we don't have those here, but were you not going to get the coralife 36 watt??
I think the best thing for me to do is get the light first then see which tank it looks better on the 3 gal or 5 gal.
Hey bought my porcelain crab, what an awesome critter, so very neat to watch. His home is my huge orange ric. Just love this guy, more out front than the pom pom crabs which hide all the time and come out at night, this guy is out all the time and to watch them feed is really cool too. You definatley need one of these in your 3 gal for sure....

Get the porcelain crab instead, he will be out and about so you can see him. The pom pom hides under a rock and does not come out till night when the lights are out. Not very interesting in my opinion but when I do see him he is very neat.

Guess what, i found that light you have Nissan......

Price here is $99.00 i have to see how much the bulbs are though.
But what is the top measurement of your tank?? if its 12" how are you going to place this 18"light on it??
