Sorry just came back from the "dead"...

Basicly with the "underflow" from the overflow it won't matter too much "where" the outlet is positioned and ERs don't produce much in bubble "output" to beginwith...
You have the basic idea and layout, as well as the skimmer in hand.. so now it's up to you to put it in place in the "best" position it will "let you"...
... i can make it 17" wide and take 3 inches off the fuge and put 2" onto the skimmer and 1" to the drain chamber.
Size like this..with the basic layout from above...
i asked if that would be good and u didnt say anything so i was thinking its bad....
If it were bad..I'd let you know (and try to talk you out of it)...:D

With two overflows and two 1" drain lines you'll have a good match with the Mag 18 return pump...
from page 1..post 2...:)

its still ok even when i tell u im going to have the mag 18 T off and return on both sides of the tank right?

Tie the two drains together and then split and control flow to each the skimmer chamber (more) and Fuge (less)...
Are the overflows in the corners...?
If so i'd suggest a single OTT (over the top) return centered in the back rather than spliting return and losing flow...

hey squid, pictures that were posted are gone hehe. gonna plumb this badboy and we were talking about the mag 18 for return. and im going to tie the 1" draings together in the middle. then go down then go down and split again to the fuge and skimmer. u said have a ball valve on the fuge side... u said less in there more in skimmer. so what should i turn the ball valve too... u had a pic i think but its not here anymore.. just turn it a quarter turn or so? then return T off and go to both sides of tank.

Can't say "quarter turn" or whatever...it'll depend on the length of pipes, angle of horizontal drain and proximity to overflow how much each "side" flows...
You'll just have to fire it up and adjust a needed depending on results... might be fine open, might be 3/4 closed....
Now, without going back and rereading the entire thread... The "math" is...
You'll want 1 1/2 X skimmer pump turnover going to skimmer side and 7-10X fuge volume going to fuge side...and then "tweak" from there...

Looking good Mike..saw the other thread as well....
I've been kinda busy the last couple days, checking the boards but haven't had much time to post...
Keep up the good work and post more pictures as you progress on installation...

squiddie i picked up my bulkheads today there 1" slip on both sides.. i kno they have threaded.. i never used slip ones before are they still cool? or should i try to find the threaded on the bottom for the PVC to sump to be more safe.. or PVC glue woul dbe fine?
he says people use these too so im guessing its fine. just what people perfer to use to plumb.. im just a lil leary on it since threaded to me seems better to stop leaks..
am i ok with em?

well since i have slip slip bulkheads i need to find a 90* elbow 1" that has a slip female side so i can slip it into the bulkhead. other side needs to be 1" slip. so i can continue with PVC.. cant seem to find a 90* elbow with slipxfemaleslip 1" jeeze i need to to be 90* right from the start to meet other overflow

Sorry to butt in, but have you tried using about a 2.5" piece of PVC inserted into bulkhead then your 90- the 90 sould meet the bulkhead, the 2.5" of PVC being the male between the two?

i was gonna do that butjust wanted to see if there was a elbow that will just slip in... but yea ill do it that way.

It's called a "Street L"... a Male/slip on one side and a female/slip on the other....
As opposed to a "regular" elbow with female/female ends..
