Such an incredible fish they are. It's crazy that they are not more popular than they are.
Price is key most people don't wanna plop 100 to 250 on a fish that eats inverts

Yeah, but many people will spend that on clown triggers, many eels, and some of the more exotic puffers..

I'll bet you 2/3rds the people who pick up a clown trigger don't know what they are getting into. And seriously how many people really have exotic eels or puffers?
Besides with eels you typically don't need HUGE setups. If you want a tusk and other bigger aggressives you really need a 200+ gallon tank.

In my opinion harlequin tusks and are not the easiest fish to take care of. I had a beautiful big one and unfortunately I had to give it to my friend who has a more peaceful tank. Tusks are not fast and agressive fish and I had mine with a niger and picasso triggers. I tell you... this tusk was impossible to feed! Every piece of food I put in the tank for it, the triggers snapped it up before the tusk even got to it. I had to overfeed for this guy to get any food. So it had to go, lesson learned. But they are beautiful fish. They just need the right tank mates.

Their max size in captivity is around 8-10", they are active fish, and need alot of swimming room. They can be difficult to acclimate sometimes, so always make sure the fish you buy is active and eating. Once acclimated they are a very hardy fish in my experience. They are also not aggressive as stated above, and sometimes don't do well with fast aggressive fish such as the more aggressive triggers. Prices in my area range from $80-150 for an indo tusk, and $125-250 for an Aussie. They are usually more available in the summer time.
My 7" Aussie tusk

you realize they don't typically catch juvi's since they are typically collected by fish hook right? 60 bucks is a steal for that fish. Too good to be true almost.

I'm sure it's not an aussie. Definitely spend the extra money and get the aussie. I've gone through 2 indo's that have died within the first month. Most of them are cyanide caught believe it or not.

Aussies are prettier too. But those typically run for 250. But I found a guy locally that sells em for 100 bucks.

There's actually an online store that has them very cheap right now (less than $150)Sorry, I can't say which one, but if anyone wants an aussie tusk, jump on it quick before they change their price back to normal.
