Star Fish?

I have some very tiny starfish in my tank, they are about the size of a dime and from what I can tell I think they are batik star fish. Does anyone know anything about them? I used to only see maybe two or three of them on the rocks. Now all of a sudden there's over a dozen of them all over the glass the last few days? Have they reproduced or were they always there? This take was given to me about 18 months ago and I was told there were 2-3 small star fish in it.
Thanks,

Thanks for the website, I checked it out and I think you are right. That's what they are. It just seems like they all of a sudden started multiplying overnight and are coming out more often. Do you know if it is bad to have too many of them in a tank? My tank is 75 gallons.

I probably have like 100 in my 24g... annoying more then anything. I make them fall in my seabae nem, great food for the nem. There are lots of us who have them, just remove the ones that bug ya, as the likely hood is you will never rid your tank of them
