Star Ployps

My star polyps are growing like crazy! They have completely taken over the rock that I initially placed them on. How can I go about "splitting" it into two pieces? I would like to have some on another rock.
Here they are.

I was told that I could cut them with a sharp razor. Is this how I would do it?

IMO your fingernail would work better. Pick up the rock and shake it until all the polyps close then pull it out of the water. Pick at an edge with your finger and peel off a couple inches of it. Just tear it once you get enough. This works better than cutting because it damages fewer polyps. Just be careful not to squish it when you're handling it.
You can super glue it or rubberband it to the new rock.
