star polyp help

I bought a frag of star polpy on Thursday night. I acclimated it and put it into my tank and then I wasn't able to check on it until Saturday night. I noticed that it had not opened at all. I checked the position and relized that it was in a slack water flow area. I moved it to right in front of the power head and on Sunday morning it was opened. But I did not like the placement, so I simply moved it about an inch, still in high flow, but it has not opened up since.
Any ideas.
My salinity is 1.021
my water parmeters as of a week ago
PH 8.2
Nitrates 10
calcium 360 (higher now from dosing with purple up)
phosphates 0.4 (lower now, I have the phospate pad in my filter now)
ammonia (0)
temp 78

If something bothers a GSP it will close pretty quickly and it may not come out for days. As long as the purple mat is still there they are alive. I wouldn't worry much. Just leave it alone, if you keep touching it and moving it that will probably make it less likely to come out.
They don't need to be blasted with flow either. I've had mine in heavy flow and they'd come out, but didn't look as good because they were being beaten by the current and I've had them in almost no flow and they looked fine like that. I'd go for something in the middle.

So as long as I see the dark purple mat, then it is probaly alive? I will just leave it alone for a while and see what is happening. I know my water is good, cause I have a hammer and gonoporia that are doing awesome as well as zoos and mushrooms.

You didn't post your alkalinity, but if you have been dosing PurpleUp (mostly calcium) it is probably too low. High phosphates usually aren't a big concern with GSP, as long as they aren't REALLY high. All that said, some GSP just take a while to adjust, especially if your water is off like yours is.
salinity needs to come up
calcium needs to come up
phosphates need to go down (maybe)
alkalinity (probably) needs to come up

Thanks for your help. I am not sure why they opened, but they did. I did add some purple up which probaly helped the calicum and I also got my water salinity up a little bit.
Mainly, I quit moving them and let them sit.
I appreciate the help I receive on this board. Thanks to all who give advice.
