star polyp question

I got some star polyps this weekend and only a few come out every now and then. Do I need to move it to a different location or what could be causing them all not to come out?
I also got some button polyps and they are doing fine (all out, all day).
My other corals are 2 different kinds of mushrooms (about 10 total), some xenia, and some other type of button polyps. They are all doing fine as well.
Still pretty new to corals so any info would be appreciated.

Oh, and right now it is about 6" from the bottom of the tank and is in a medium / turbulent flow area in the tank if that helps.

I have a huge rock of GSP in my 75 and they are about 3/4 up from the bottom in a med flow area and love it , i've heard that if they are in a med to semi strong water flow they spread easy. I have 300 watts running, if that helps. i also had the same problem where the whole rock did not open for a whole week, after that they are doing great. I guess they do that sometimes.

I'll just give them some more time. Nothing looks "bad", they just don't come out. They have only been in there 3 days so far. I have 180 watts right now but am about to upgrade to 440w in 1 week so that should help too.

I have heard people asking the same question...and sometimes it takes a while for star polyps to open up. Mine only took only a day to open up, but have heard close to a week. Just give it time.
I keep mine in low flow....1/2 way up in my tank. I plan putting more flow on them soon. Mine are under PC and MH lighting.

They came out of a tanks with MH lights (they were on the bottom though). I guess it will just take them longer to get used to it.

Mine came out on the next day. I had them in a semi high flow area at the top and they are spreading fast.

I was asking this same question a month ago or so.....I was told just to leave them and wait. Well, I did and they opened up in about a week. Now they are open everyday like clock work.

Well I looked at them and now about 1/2 of them are open (4 days). At this rate they should be all out in a week.
