Star polyps are missing

I put a smallish (1" x 2 1/2") frag of star polyps in my 20 last Friday they looked great until Wednesday when only about half of them appeared to be there. Yesterday none of them opened, it's like they have just disappeared.
I'm assuming I have killed them somehow but my pulsing xenia, button polyps and shrooms are doing fabulous.
I have a coralife pc 65 with 50 50 bulbs and the bulbs are only about 5 weeks old. I've been feeding 1 capful of marine snow every other day
Params are
1.025 sg
8.2 ph
0 nitrates
0 nitrites
0 ammonia
Any ideas on what went wrong? I'd like to get more but obviously need to correct the problem first.

How big of a tank? I wouldn't worry about them yet... they close up like that but will likely come back out.. they do like fairly good water flow and decent lighting though. I dosed Iodine one time and mine closed up for almost a week.. they came back out though and are now growing and spreading...very healthy

It's a 20 gallon and they were near the return from the bio wheel and waved nicely in the flow without getting blasted. I moved them higher up this morning thinking maybe they wanted more light...
guess i'll be patient and see what happens..
thanks!!!

When mine were new they opened up great the first 2 days and then were closed for a couple. no worries if everything else is doing ok. these things are almost indestructible.

NJ LOL the indestructable ones seem to be the ones that give me the most trouble. I'm kind of backwards.

Dude, don't worry about them. I just bought a piece of live rock with some polyps on Monday and they are just now starting to come out Saturday.
Just leave them be and watch them. ***)

YAY! they're starting to come back out. Their little balls were still there and this morning about a dozen of them came out 30 minutes after I turned the lights on.
guess this is another lesson in patience for me. ;)
