starfish half dead

I looked in my tank today and my starfish looked like he had been nipped at. And he also had what looked like algea spots. Any suggestions?

How long have you had him and how did you acclimate him?

what other fish are in the tank?
also, check your tank parameters, starfish can start to slowly lose pieces if levels are out of whack.

What kind of star is it? What are your water chemistry levels? And as asked...how did you acclimate it?
