My range starfish linka was been acting weird a couple of people answered questions from a previous thread but now the starfish has what appears to be bumps on the arms where he has been bending them. Do you think he is tring to break off the arm or something.

about 1 month you told me i did not acc him propley yesterday. but now his arms have a couple bumps on them

they kind of look like they are air filled and the color of im red, where his tenticals are i see some stringy stuff

I made the mistake of getting a linckia when I was a newbie. It was okay for about a week but then it got what looked like open white spots on it that started to ooze stringy white stuff after about 24 hours. I didn't live for more than a few days after that.

i had a linka star for months b4 i acclimated it for about 15 min thats it .I have been reading alot tonite on starfish dying for one given reason or another.starfish dont just feed on the foods that fall in the tank and left behind by fish.they are filter feeders and require spacifice nutrients in the water to maintain health.tank slacking these essencial nutrients cannot keep these sensetive creatures alive for a lengthy amount of time.thes elements are given by the water they live in and must be supplimented on way or another.salt mix alone do not contain enough of them to keep them alive .they riquire cal strontium magnazium oidine and other trace elements found in suppliments.proper ph ,sg and good water conditions.ps my linka didnt die of starvation it got crushed in a rock slide while i was upgrading my tank
