Can anybody tell me how to feed my tangs seaweed without the starfish getting it? No matter where I put it in the clip the starfish finds his way to it.:help:

What's taking the tang so long? Mine attack the seaweed like some kind of Pit Bull as soon as I put in.

My tang is a wuss.......he hides behind the rockwork when I put a piece in. He'll take a couple of bites on it and next thing you know the starfish has totally covered it and is chowing down.

Ya mine used to do that, I cut back on feeding (I also have a cyno problem atm) and it seemed to help encourage him.
I don't starve them mind you but I don't just keep feeding until they all stop eating either. Other than that I have no idea, I don't have a star.

What kind of star and what do you feed it? Try diverting its attention with a piece of shrimp...can't blame the star for trying to eat.

Hiya,
Why not put two pieces in the tank at one time on opposite sides of the tank. Thben the star can eat and so can the tang.

my chocolate chip used to eat the stips of seeweed, instead of the tang. I stopped this by giving the star a piece of shrimp at the sametime I clipped on the seeweed. by the time he was done the seeweed was gone.

Is this a good time to confess that even eye want to eat some of that "sushi" nori when I give it to the fish? Come on, someone else must feel this way too? It was at its worst when I worked at an aquarium and we would be cutting up beautiful (human consumption grade) tuna, salmon, squid, shrimp and then getting that nori out too. Hard to throw that at the fish without at least the thought of a nibble. So I think the seastar will just need some diversion, or some of his own.
