starfish

I recently purchased a Sand sifting Starfish about a week and half ago and I have noticed that one of his arm is melting away. When I purchased him he looked in perfect shape. I acclimated him for 2 1/2 hrs use a drop. Does anyone have any idea what could be happening?

starfish are very hard to keep. Have you checked your water? If that is not the problem maybe something is feeding on him. What else is in the tank?

One blue damsel, one scarlet shrimp, blue leg, scarlet, and dwarf tip hermet crabs. One emrald crab, brittlestar, and turbo snails.

its prob nothing but my blue damsel was psycho. He defnitly went after my brittle star on numerous occasions. Just a thought.

I was thinking it might be him, but he share's the same home with my brittle. :notsure:

e damsel started off nice. Then my tang was missing half his tail. Then came some of perc's fins. My brittle star started to have shorter legs. Then there was the blue damsel who looked perfectly untouched, puffing up at anything that went near him.
