i have this star fish that is an orange color and has tiny bumps or spikes on him he is soft. i have notice that he turning white on top and have no clue as to why.he went from a tank that was a 29 gallon to a 90 gallon tank. i am looking in to getting a ro filter but before he moved to the new tank his color was fine and didn't have ro water.

How did you acclimate it when you switched him from the 29g to the 90g tank?

Notes: Starfish are extremely sensitive to sudden changes in water parameters and to the presence of copper. Extra care and time should be taken whenever acclimating this animal. Like all star fish, it is very intolerant of sudden changes in temperature, oxygen levels, salinity and pH of the water, and cannot tolerate copper-based medications.

Try using the drip method over the course of 2 hours, that should acclimate him well enough. What type of starfish is it and what size?
