I don't feed my mushrooms, they do catch the flaked and brineshrimp that falls their way. I did do that liquid food stuff and crashed a tank so I am a bit leary of it. Depending on what kinds of corals you have some have to be fed. Do alot of research before buying and post questions on this forum too. Many experts here to help you along the way....
My tank is 2 years old. My green hairy mushrooms have just about covered a complete rock the size of a large baseball, the green ones are smaller and have taken more time, the red ones are huge and measure about about 3 1/2" across. So they have done well, you could certainly get them to grow faster and multiply faster too if you want with food etc.
