There are other ways to do what you want to do. You were almost there. My wife and I run three businesses. Shoot me an email.

I looked into this and decided not after finding out it is about impossible to get a loan for a lfs and they dont make alot of money.
You wont get rich from it unless you have one of those huge places to compete with the *****'s and petsmarts.
lfs in our area are exotic aquatics, aquascapes, the ark, etc. no huge money makers!
After talking to some people, they do tank maintenance for extra $$ and thats not alot.
I am not trying to discourage anyone but just make sure not rush into anything unless you are lucky enough to open up something huge.
Instead I am doing contracting, my brother has been doing it for years and has made a fortune, he owns custom builders and has retired at 41.
Just as an example start up costs ~350,000 with loan payoff within 2 years, average profit on an upscale home is ~100,000 on ~300k invested unless you are doing something wrong, but then again I got lucky, my brother has been doing it for over 20 years and hooked me up!
Anyway if you can do it more power to you and good luck! We could use more "good" lfs!
