I just started a new reef tank a week ago. Should i put elements in now or wate until i get corals? I also have 50 pounds of live rock in it.

Hey,
You should probably wait. Starting Kalkwasser/Calcium will help your lr develope coraline algae but go easy on the amount until there is something in your tank to use it up.
I'm sure there will be other opinions on this one.
Take care,
Dan'l :D

U should have more live rock in it. I have that much in my 37. Just my opinion. The more live rock you have the better, unless you have an ugf. The live rock act's like a filter and help's to cycle your tank faster. Mine cycled in 3 days one for each ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate.

sorry i answered the wrong question, i didn't start adding supplements till i got my corals. My coraline did fine with the water i added for the evaporated water. That seemed to have enough in it.

Yea the purple stuff is coraline...There is always a hole for a new piece of coral, I thought I had too much rock but, whenever I find a coral I want, I locate a spot for it.
