starting a quarantine tank?

should i start with fresh water or use water from my established tank? once it's up and running should i do regular water changes?

either or the bacteria isnt in the water column so it wont help the cycle but it would be more stable of water.

you should keep it cycled and running once its already going. you dont need to do regular water changes if theres nothing in it, but throw it some food now and then to keep the bacteria living so it stays cycled in case you need it.
