Starting a Quarintine tank

Hello all I am still learning salt water tanks and equipment and this forum has been so much help so far. I am setting up a 55 gal quarantine tank that I got off craigslist that is a reef ready tank. I have a sump pump but no refugium or anything. I was told I could use like a basic 10 gal tank under to use as one. Do I need to do anything special for this to work? Thanks again for everyone's help

no they are very easy. i just use a HOB filter a heater and an air line with no stone or a small powerhead. if you use an air line use a rubber band to secure the air line to a rock or something. but just cycle it the way you would a regular tank.

is the sump for your qt?

if you do plan to put a sump on your qt dont do it. the qt should be bare with a few peices of pbc and a HOB filter with some way to move the water around.

Yeah he sold the filter and heater with tank but not the sump tank or skimmer
