Ok so I have a 125 gallon with about 90lbs of rock. About 25 pounds in live with coraline. Bout 60 pounds is dead fuji rock with no growth at all.
My question is how do I get alge to grow on the dead rock. I hav been adding b-ionc. The tank is about 6 weks old. I know it takes time but I was wondering if I needed to do anything in addition to adding buffer.
params are good.

You can add stuff like purple up, but I wouldnt. That stuff can mess with your water paremeters...
Under the right conditions it will spread. Be patient

The best thing for coralline growth is time. If you have a good tank it will spread. Make sure your calcium levels are right also. I have put in pure white rock in my tank before and it eventually becomes encrusted with coralline.

To kick start the coralline see if theres a local reefer than can scrape you off some coralline off the side of their tank.
