Well, not exactly a vacation. I have school Monday and Tuesday. Then Wednesday, I go for deviated septum and rhinoplasty surgery which keeps me out of work for 10 days. Doctor said no work but nothing about no work on my fishtank. I am going to upgrade my lights from T-8 to T-12, add 75# more rock, put a back ground on and give everything a good cleaning
. Then day 8-12, we are flying to Los Angeles for a 4 day vacation
. We are be seeing famous gravestones and going to start my wives buiness hopefully.

Upgrade from T-8 to T-12? Last I looked there was a whole lot better selection of T-8 reef lamps unless you are going VHO T-12. If you really want an upgrade check out T5's.

I am going VHO T-12. The reason I am is because when I bought my tank from this guy, he gave me the T-8 set-up which was on the tank running and a complete set-up ( ARO Ballasts, caps, etc.) for a T-12 VHO set-up. I am having problems with my T-8's becuase they are not water-proof connectors and I really don't need a fire soon.
I figure since I have the complete T-12 VHO set-up, why not use it.

Good luck - I am supposed to have the same thing done, let me know how it works out.
Can do. All I know it is going to hurt bad. 1/2 my cartilage has grown sideways in my nose. Right nostril is pretty much blocked.

So are you going to use your electric meter as an outdoor fan once you crank that light up?

You're jumping on a plane five days after you have major nose surgery? You've a braver person than me. I guess rhinoplasty surgical procedures have improved since I had mine 37 years ago. I remember them stuffing at least 10 yards of cotton swabbing up both my nostrils, and that had to stay in for at least 2 days. Then I had to wear that 'cast' on my nose for a week or two. Your doctor doesn't forsee any problems with flying in a pressurized cabin that soon after that type of surgery?

I will be flying 7 days after my surgery when the cotton swabs come out. Pending no infection or complications, he said it was okay to fly by day 7.

Update : Surgery went good. Recovering went bad. This is the first time I had a problem waking up. From what the nurse told me, I was over my time limit in recovery and my wife was tell them to admit me since I still wasn't awake.
Anyways, Percocet high right now. Hurts bad. Looks good thought. Just hope I feel better tomorrow. still bleeding from right nostril.

Day #2. Well doing better today. Bleeding is almost gone. I had to sleep sitting up last night so i sat on the couch all night. I watched my fish tank from 2am till 5am. it was awesome just staring at the fish tank while on a 2 percocet high watching my snails cleaning. lol. Got my t-12's today but i can't stoop, bend over or strain so itls killing me not being able to put them in.
i can breath better threw my nose so i am happy about that. Still very mad at the hospital and how they treated me in the recovery room.

I'd blame it on the anethesiologist. Sounds like he gave you the wrong, or too much of, the "cocktail" he used to put you out.

I have never had a problem in the past but I haven't been down that long ever before. Not sure if that has to anything to do it. But the anethesiologist just called me to check up on me. I told him what happened and he is talking to the charge nurse and the nurse is going to call me back. He was surprised with what I told him.
