Get a refractometer, good test kits, RO/DI unit . By time frame what do you mean?
You should cycle your tank for at least 3 weeks give or take to ensure that you biological filter is good to go. Add livestock very slowly, like with fish 1 every couple weeks or more. Inverts get your cleaning crew first then wait. Get a fish wait longer, then add some corals or whatnot but constantly check your water. Ive had my 58 up for over a month and still havent added a fish yet.

Ive had my tank going for about three months, I have like 8 crabs. a star fish, a few corals, clowns, gobby, and the damn damsel. it think it is doing pretty good, but im worried about the transistion from what they are in now, to what i just bought: lights and sump. Is there any way i should adjust my tank so everything can adjust to the light.
