starting over with reef

I have a 55g fowlr that been up for a year. I want to change to reef. I have cc and want to change to sand How should I do that? I have about 30lb lr and a wet/dry with dio balls. I also need to know how many powerheads i sould buy and where to place them in the tank?

To change over to sand you have a big job a head of you. You need to take out your fish and live rock, then you can pull out your CC and replace it with sand. Then add every thing back in. It is definetly a good move to do.
I have 2 powerheads in my 55 one one each end blowing towards the center. I'll be adding a small one behind my live rock in the middle.

arkey.d what's the flow rate of your powerheads? I've got a 55 gal and I've been thinking about adding a 3rd power head as well.

Mine are Aquaclear 50's and GPH is 270 each
