I use to have a 75 gal agro tank and a 55 reef tank for 5 yrs but I moved almost 2 yrs ago and gave my reef tank to my sis and sold the other. I just got my old 29 gal out and cleaned it im gonna make me a reef tank out of it then maybe another one later but what I wanted to know is can I add like 1 fish or shrinp to help the cycling cause all I have in there now is some LR, LS and a snail that was on the rock.

Yea you could put a damsel or two in there. I would steer clear of any kind of shrimp...they are pretty sensitive. HTH

If you don't want to have to use a damsel, you can use a raw shrimp from the grocery. Just let it decay in there, releasing ammonia.
I personally regretted using a damsel a long time ago, they seemed pretty territorial to me, going after much larger fish, and hard (impossible) to remove as they dart into rocks.

Yea true about the damsel but they are not hard to catch really. Just go to the toy section of your local store and get those big butterfly nets...they work great!

Don't use live fish for cycleing...it's CRUEL!
A frozen shrimp is fine to kick off your cycle.
