Starting QT tank

My tank is almost finished cycling. Should I use already-cycled water from the tank to start a QT, or should I just use new water and do frequent water changes?

IMO only use 1/4 cycled then te rest non, ive hered that would work.

i used water from the main tank a few weeks after the first water change and that seemed to work well for me

I think that's what I'm going to go with.

First off use what ever water you want in most cases it is going to be setting in the tank a "LONG" time before it is ever used. I have had mine setup for around a month and a half and still havent got to use it :nope: . That said I would search for a post by beth about QT tanks it is really good and will get you off to a good start I read it and followed to a T and my tank cycled step by step with my main tank.

My main tank is almost done cycling, that's why I wondered if I could use pre-cycled water from the main tank to use in the QT.
