just pull out the affected pieces of rock and let the rock die off.
re-cure it and put it back in.

With base rock going for $9.99 a lb in this area I don't think so. I have paid as much as $100 (about $16 lb) for one rock in my tank so the idea of killing it does not appeal to me, there is to much life on these rocks to just anilate all of it to get rid of one pest.
