I guess i should have used thicker glass!
Oh well, i had to redesign it anways. Now i've gotta store a bunch of live rock and sand in a cooler though. Kinda sucks.

I've been told you can. I wouldn't see why it would matter. You're just glueing one piece inside another. Is the problem with the glue not being able to bind to both materials?

ive used plexi inside glass tanks before, but it never stuck very well. i used both caulk and silicone. the caulk just comes off it very easy. at least what i used did. i found that siliconing glass inside a glass tank worked great or obviously acrylic welded into an acrylic tank. it seems if you keep the materials the same, they work awesome, if you mix them, they never bond very strong and can easily blow out with water pressure. i'm sure its been done pleanty of times with no problems at all, its just my personal findings that its best to keep the materials the same.

I used the plastic with aquarium sealer in my 75gal. glass fuge and so far so good..you have to cut your plastic so it's a nice tight fit , and let it dry for 2 days before adding water , before joining the pieces to the tank clean the inside of the tank very good , good luck with the next one ..

refrigum? Both sides of mine broke. Still works. I even left the glass in there. Been that way like 8 months. No rush.
