Stealth Pro Heater blew up in my tank this morning

I have another heater, but my anemone, snails, urchins, shrimp, and slug have all died. I changed 25% of the water and I'm trying to get the residue out of the tank, but there is plastic and glass all over my sand and rocks and my fish aren't looking well. What should I do?

I am sorry to hear this, and I hate to say this but there was a voluntary recall on the stealth heaters, I had one almost overheat my tank it was up to 85 when I noticed, I didn't loose anything. Quite a few people here have lost livestock because of these heaters. Make sure you save the heater and take it back where you bought it. Good luck.

Ended up setting up a whole new tank.. That tank had no shot at the fish living in it at least this tank everything is living and swimming without them looking like they're gasping for air. Getting the sand not to be mirky was tricky though, but I added the some water from the very top of the old tank to the new one to avoid the cycle killing my fish.

What a bummer..I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles
I had a broken heater..it shocked my tank and killed all inverts and most of the coral, I lost no fish.
Most of the good bacteria is on the sand and rock, not in the water, so add your rock back ASAP and maybe rinse your sand in salt water and get it back in there too. A bottle of cycle will help as well.

The rocks have been in there the sand was littered with glass, plastic, and the heater fragments so I didn't use any of it.
