I cycle my lights carefully during the day. Mostly I run straight Actinic during the day and evening. I still have a problem with green and brown algea. Will chemi-pure elite help me?

If you are the type that will change the media on a regular bases. I know that I am not. So I would change what I was doing to make the tanks waste numbers balance out.

How old is the tank and what are you keeping in it?

Tank is 9 months old. I do a 30g water change every 2 weeks. Clean my canister the same time, replace both floss filters, and rinse out of sponges in saltwater.

Do you feed the fish?

The more fish the more waste.

Are you getting lots of coralline algae?
Tell more about the tank setup

I just read your profile if it is still good and you are feeding this
Mysis Shrimp, Shrimp Brine, Saltwater Variety Pack try feeding a dry food like a Nutrafin complete first soak in water then feed like brine shrimp. When you feed frozen foods it is more mushy and dirties the water more than a food that the fish can eat more of. Feed less more times so there is less waste.

Is this all the CUC you have 7 Turbo Snails, 1 Emerald Crabs, 1 Cleaner Shrimp?

If you have a sandbed you could add 12 ceriths and 12 nassarius snails.

I like CC even though many don't, yet they have a point sand will support a larger bio-filter.
Do you have those scuds shrimps they like to get down in the CC and help clean it of fish food. 12 ceriths would do fine in your tank to start they eat that brown slime algae. I think you would need more but I would work my way up in numbers. The nassarius I don't know how they would do in a CC bed.

I don't think it is brown algea. My CC turns brown after a couple days after a water change.

are u using ro/di ? do you have enough flow ie. power heads ? post some pic's it will be make it easy to see what the problem is ie. algea/bacteria/diatoms etc. based on what I've read I'd say you have a nutrient problem what are your water param's. cc, feeding 3 times a day and such could feed the algea. do you have a fuge what kind of skimmer are u using ?
