10g nano been setup for over 10 years. the lights which are pc 36watters i was over due acouple months fo changing them but the animals were still doing great. but another brand of lighting since sealife went out of buisness. got corallife bulbs. ever since then i can't fight the brown and green alage problem. water changes help alittle but it comes right back. have the lights on for the past couple weeks for 4hrs a day and still makes no difference. even a 50% water change didn't make a difference once the lights came on. never had a problem till these lights. what the heck can i do? the lights weren't cheap and hate to throw them away and get other bulbs..

is the spectrum on the new bulbs the same as the old ones? how about the kelvin? different spectrums can be used more easily than others by different organisms. maybe the new bulbs have a spectrum that is right up algae's alley. If they are 6,700K bulbs, they are supposed to promote plant growth. They have less blue light than a 10,000K bulb.

not sure what the rating was on the customsea life bulbs they don't make them anymore. coralife bulbs are 6700/10000k and 420/460 for actinic thats the only way you can get them. bulbs are only a month old and hate to throw them away and buy another brand of bulbs..... i'm lost.... what to do?
