Still need help with Refugium lighting/ballast info

I am still having trouble trying to decide what type of light to go with over my refugium. I have read the whole Advance Ballast website and am still unsure what type of ballast I need to run a 24" 75w VHO that I have sitting around. I see no ballast that are comatible with a F24T12 VHO bulb. I see VHO ballast for 72"VHO, but nothing smaller. I really don't want to spend the money to buy a NO bulb even though I think I know what ballast that would need.
Also, A while back someone posted about an alternative to using flourescent bulbs on a refugium and said that they were using some type of incandescent. I was wondering if anyone used something different. And last but not least, how much light do I need on the refugium?
I am sooo confused! Someone HELP!

It all depends on what you are going to keep in your refugium, as to what light you need. I have caulerpa in mine and I use a grow light form walmart, stuff grows like crazy. Good Luck

Well, today I called Advance ballast and they told me that they don't even make a ballast to run a 75w 24" VHO. Then I called Icecap to try to pick up a rebuilt ballast and they said it would probably be a couple weeks before they got one in. I through on another 20w bulb today with a ballast that I got from Home Depot. And it works!!
Guppie, what type of grow light did you use? Watts? Where in the store did you find it? I am looking for anything!

blondenaso1 it is a 60w screw in socket type it is called grow n show I think, I have a old work light reflector that directs the light. From what I have read and saw on others refugiums just about any light will work. Good Luck
