does any1 have an idea on how to use this kitty pool my aunt and uncle left? i was thinking a shark or ray pond, more likely a ray pond, how much do u think the equipment would be if i already had the lights?
How big is the pool - first. What's the pools dimensions, and shape.
Also is it a painted plastic kiddie pool, blow up kiddie pool, Or a rubber (with out paint) pool.
Without knowing much more details - I would suggest a good pump, a sump(LR or Bioballs), & a good skimmer.
Either way, its more trouble than its worth unless your serious about having a ray pond. If the pond is say, 300 gallons, you would obviously need filtration suitable for 300g of salt water. That isnt cheap and not something to invest in just because you have an extra pool laying around. If you are going to be spending $1000+ on a good skimmer, sump, pump, etc. why not spend an extra couple $100 and get a proper above ground pond built?

And just an FYI, kiddie pools make awesome enclosures for fresh water fish. I had turtles, salamanders, fish, inverts, and plants cought from the local ponds/lakes for many years. They did very well with only a couple pumps for circulation.

Agreed the standard plastic kiddie pool is best suited for FW fish, turtles or amphibians.
For a good shark/ray ponds go with a poly pool or build it yourself.
its pretty much a fiberglass pool, thicker than a baby pool and will last alot longer. alot of people use them as a first pond before buliding their own. you can get them from tractor supply, sometimes lowes and HD but not very often considering their not widely used. but lots of places can special order them for you if intrested.
just curious what are the deminsions on that baby pool? i used a baby pool as my first shark pond for a while untill i needed to upgrade.
