I was thinking about starting an aggresive tank with a small stingray. I was also planning to have a moray eel in with him, is this a good idea? Has anybody had any experience with stingrays?

i would not get the sting ray, while it may look very nice it needs alot of room to move around. At the minumum i would keep a ray in a 180gal but even that is not enough space for it. Get the eel and spare the ray!

I was planning to get a snowflake eel and a caribbean ray. My tank is an 84 gallon. The sting ray is supposed to get only 4 inches.

I have had experience with freshwater Motoro rays and they are good. I don't know about the SW rays, but all rays need live sand to be comfortable. Their bellies are easily damaged by coarse substrate, not to mention they spend alot of time under the sand. If you are going to get a ray get a freshwater Motoro.

the lesser electric ray is a choice they need a 70 gallon tank. Also the bullseye electric ray , they need a 40 gtank.

Somethings are better left in the ocean ( ex: string rays and some sharks ) Unless you are going to have a HUGE tank they are better off NOT at your house. Everything I have read on both require a MIN of 180 gallon tank. Go with an eel if you must go with either one of those. JMO

Start out with the f/w stingrays. THey are easier to keep. They will also help you understand how to keep rays in captivity. Some f/w rays are hard to keep. The motoro is the best beginner ray.
