Stocking question

Hi everyone, I recently lost my Lionfish because he stopped eating. I was wondering if I could get a Tang of some sort in my 120 because the Lion was a big fish and I wanted something to replace him. Here is my stock right now. I was thinking maybe a Powder blue tang or something like that. Thanks
1. Dotted Grouper
2. Yellow Tang
3. Koran Angel
4. Snowflake eel
5. Pork puffer
6. Pinstripe wrasse

A tang would probably be fine. I've heard that powder blue tangs are ich magnets. Not sure if that's true though. Clown tangs are a beautiful fish, but apparently hard to keep. Maybe a Naso tang.

Thanks for the reply. I have heard that the Clown Tangs seem to be more agressive and harder to keep and need big tanks. I would like to have some type of tang in there that would stay rather small and nice looking. Any more suggestions would be nice.

any idea why the lion quit eating?
anyway, my vote is for a blue spotted kole from this site.

Is this a standard 4 foot 120g? IMO, you are overstocked as it is. Sorry, but I would not add a tang...and definitely not something as delicate as a powder blue. That is not an easy tang to keep under good conditions. In a short tank, with a lot of big aggressives? Not a good plan, IMO.

Then what should I get other than a Tang? Could I get a Trigger of some sort? I really like the Clown Triggers.

IMO, a clown trigger would be absolutely positively the worst possible choice...with the possible exception of an undulated or similarly tempered trigger. Really a bad bad plan, if you like your other fish As I said, IMO you are at or overstocked. I would consider asking in the aggressives section where they have a good idea of other aggressive fish. Might be some ideas there.

Have to strongly disagree on the lookdown, personally, having cared for them before. Need very large, and preferably circular tanks. Very prone to being picked on....not a very good survival record in captivity as a whole. JMO
If there was room - and I am definitely not suggesting this - a foxface might be a decent player in there. A Kole tang, I agree, wouldn't be so bad either. But this is really theoretical, not advice.

Well sorry dude these message boards are to ask questions so I am. I only saw one person say I was over stocked and I wanted to get peoples opinions not just one persons or two.

As mentioned, considering you are keeping aggressives, you should probably ask in the aggressive forums for more advice.
Black durgeon though peaceful get quite large. If this is a 4' 120g tank - a standard - then I would not recommend it at all.

I know that this should be posted in the agressive forum but, one more question. Could I possibly get a Purple Tang?

THey are very very likely to fight. And, IMO, the tank is definitely NOT suitable for such a fish. Purple tangs are aggressive fish, so a larger one will only make it more likely, IMO, to fight. However, even if it was smaller, it is likely to be a significant problem.
