Stockman Standpipe

I seen millions of Videos of Stockman Standpipe for overflows but on my overflow the hole is in the side of the tank not the bottom of the over flow. Is there a way to do the Stockman Standpipe for my overflow? I just need to cut the noise down.

Probably. Do you have a standard reef ready tank that's drilled on the bottom.

The only thing the stockman design is going to do for you is help eliminate gurgling from trapped air trying to escape. Doesnt necessarily make the drain much more quiet.

No the tank has been pre drilled on the back wall not the bottom and has been set up for years. I am just a little tired of the noise from the drain so I would like to quiet it down.
