Started this thread because I did not want the nubies who posted in part one to miss it.
Now that you are hooked I will set the hook (can I say that in this forum?)
If you don’t already have one, please go out and perches as large a magnifying glass as you can. Preferable in the evening when you can turn off the room lights. View you tank through the magnifying glass. As you slowly look at all that Is with in your tank I assure you it will be truly amazing.
Note to Sir Q
The rude, condescending, obnoxious, stubborn, unsympathetic, inpatient, for ever misconstruing other peoples thoughts evil twin will be back very very soon.

This is true I love taking a flashlight to the tank about an hour after lights out. Very different world.

Mine to she has already talked about the men in white coats taking me away cuz I stare at a glass box for hours. If I get a magnifying glass out I will also get one of those round padded rooms. But hey if I could have my tank in there I would be happy so why not.

Henry Henry what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. You looking at your tank through a magnifying glass, is no more crazy then how see looks at you through one. (if you know what I mean. AND I THINK YOU DO )

Joe, my friend, I've been around - scanning through the boards when I get some time which is not very often, so unless something catches my eye, I usually don't take the time to post. Amazing how the list of projects from summer has simply gone on and on
. Was hoping things were going to slow down some after the holidays, but managed to get myself into a 6 hour a week EMT class and a 6 hour a week Fire-fighter I class for my volunteer firefighter job, so time will truly become premium. Don't know what I was thinking I must be insane.

Poorly I'm afraid, at least for my tank. The poor thing is so abused - I've been so busy I haven't had much time to spend on it. Prior to thanksgiving the sump failed (stupid, stupid, stupid - plastic baffles in a glass tank), lost several corals and most of my fish. Got that rebuilt and running well thanks to Dennis210, but am now suffering through a major aptasia outbreak, and I'm just not getting consistent time to treat them. Other than that life is crazy hectic. What can I say, some day I've got to learn to say no - just haven't figured it out yet.
BTW Henry, nice visual rofl!

I hate when life gets in the way of reefing. Maybe you need to get a small Copper Band Butterfly for a while. Then after the Aiptasia genocide that will ensue you can trade him off to another reefer or back to the LFS for some credit. What's up with Firefighter EMT gig? Teaching not going so well?

What did happen to him I dont see him much anymore. Ayway god luck on the aptasia. I personaly dont know about a copper band butterfly. if you have to give it back. But besides joes juice (no comment on that) and pepermints I am clueless. Unless you are like my brother and can scoop them out with a spoon and good luck on that. I am clueless

Yeah might have to think about the butterfly, never had one before. Tried the Joe's Juice, Aiptasia control, and the peppermint shrimps - no go, course I think you have to be somewhat regular in the application, and I just haven't had the time. Teaching is actually going fine; Firefighter/EMT is a long story, but the short version is I got myself appointed as a board member for a brand new fire district (formed in the area where I live), so I've ended up becoming a volunteer firefighter and am pursing the EMT (I was actually premed in college, life just happens) just because. Don't see it going anywhere besides volunteer, but who knows what life holds in store

Joe, very sorry to hear that - wonder if it was the wild collected sand? I've heard that they are actually helpful in controlling nitrogen levels if you can keep the darn things out of the DT; hopefully you've been able to do that. I hate aiptasia!
