I am planning to get a RO/DI for the garage to make my own water. I'm Just tired of hauling to the store to get water. O'yea I have to go to the lfs tomorrow morning to get water, o'never mind. But I digress.
My question is do I need to keep the storage container with circulation, heat or anything else or can I just put it in a closed container?

Don't know for sure but I use brute trash cans, with wheels,
I add salt 24 hours before and circulate (powerhead) and bring it to tank temp. Wheel them to the tank and use the powerhead to pump the water to the tank. Almost painless.

also, when I store ro/di, I keep it aerated and heated. For emergencies. don't mix the salt in case there is any evareration.

Mine is a brute container, on a 24" platform. It has a bulkhead and valve at the bottom for filling buckets. I don't heat or aerate it. As long as you don't store more than a week or two's worth at a time, you should be fine doing it this way.

Theoretically it should be fine for a long time as long as the storage containers were cleanand no organics are n it. I used to store it aerated now I do not and have not noticed any difference as to when I aerated it. Same for my stored locally collected saltwater. I used to store it with aeration, now I jusyt store it in closed plastic 55 gal drums for weeks and weeks without problems. Just keep it cool and out of sunlight and rodi water will be just fine.

I have a 20 gal trash can that I mix water in. I just dump RO water in the can and let it sit until I am ready to add in salt. Then I turn on a PH to mix the salt and water. The saltwater usually mixes for a day, sometimes two before I do a water change. Leaving the water sit for a week or two shouldnt affect it. Just be sure to aerate it before doing a water change. This will happen when you mix in the salt.
