As an update, just came from Big Als:
1) zero LR, except for rubble
2) Very little coral
3) what probably used to be 3 nice blue carpets and 1 green carpet anemone but now are all clearly dying. Pathetic!
4) A starfish tank with 1 blue Linkia melted beyond recognition and another melting blue Linkia that must have been dead for at least 2 days.
That store really needs to get their act together. I dont care how big the shark tank is, is you have dead, decaying animals in your tanks, its disgraceful!

Sufunk where do you go to??? I would like to know to check it out.. I do agree that there (reef life's) coral tanks do have a lot of algea. No place is perfect. At least that I have seen. I know what you mean that they would freak out when you touch there LR and you are just looking to see what they have. When I purchased LR from them the guy put on gloves and went though it for me. I can understand why they do that, they do not want anything that you could have on your hands to kill anything on the LR.

To me, Exotic aquatic is the best. They almost always have a decent amount of LR, good fish and a decent amount of coral. The guys that work there definitely know what they're talking about and they will work on the price with you.

Its off dixie by Oakland. Go to Google, click on local and type in "saltwaterfish" then your area code"33***" It should come up with alot of LFS around there. I found Exotic Aquatic on there. It's pretty nice. A lil small but pretty nice.

an update to your update, sufunk.
i went in to big als this weekend and they just got a shipment of LR in. it was all uncured, but it was some of the largest, most-multicolored, cool rock i have seen for sale. i was actually sort of upset that i had more then enough rock than i needed because i feel a well placed massive rock or 2 really makes an appealing tank if you have the room.

Just went again and saw the rock your talking about. Why dont they always have it??? I was gonna get 1 smaller piece but i took it out and it STUNK like the worst hot garbage ive ever smelt. Didnt want to have to cure it myself for 2 more weeks so, i passed.
The starfish and anemone tanks were still disgusting and very little coral :notsure:
