Strange gel-like stuff just appeared

I just walked into my son's room and there was what looked like the galaxy spinning around in his tank. It was a clear gel-like substance whirling around in the current with air bubbles trapped in it. It looked amazingly beautiful (not something I want in the tank though), but I don't have a clue as to what it can be. I used a net and caught as much as I could. It coated the net and puddled in the bottom. Does anyone know what this could be and if so, is there anything else I should do. Could something have spawned? :notsure:

a couple of different zoo and button polyps
clove polyps
bubble coral
xenia
2 feather dusters
peppermint shrimp
firefish
candycane coral
misc snails and hermit craps
tunicate
tiny brittle stars (several I think)
peanut worm
various other hitchikers

It could be a secretion released by one of the corals.

Thanks, I have never had anything like it happen before. It there a reason for it?

Some corals use it as a defense mechanism or when they get stressed.

I wonder what happened :notsure: Nothing new had been added. All the parameters are where they are supposed to be. Everything was back to normal Sunday.

As long as everything looks healthy don't sweat it .... it's just nature's way.
