Where did you get the rock from (or should I say what region did the rock come from)?
Can you get a pic or a good look at its eyes? I'm also gonna move this to the hitchhiker section for you

Thx guys, and thank you for moving the thread my apologies for posting in the wrong section, the pic is as good as i can make it. I put it in my tank and he vanished in some hole, I'm sure its there some where if it survives good if not....well sucks for him i guess.
I forgot to ask where the rocks are from ill call up the shop tomorrow and ask, thing that is freaking me out though is that I also saw a crab on one of my rocks and even if I had "washed" the rocks before putting them in I guess this guy was well anchored.
Anyway I just got a glimpse of him before he went back in his hole and its legs were small and with tiger like stripes (yellow and black) I added sand to the tank so I don't know if I sealed him on or not or if he is able to come out. iv been reading alot about the problems so called gorilla crabs do, hope hes not one of them and that the little lobster wont be its first victim....sniff sniff
BTW he was slightly larger than the little lobster

ya he dosent sound like such a good crab! My hitchiker crabs actually had their own holes and dens dug into the rock! So hes probably found some kinda hole in ur rock! Hes more likeyl to come out at night but eventually you may see him start to come out during the day!

If you know which rock the crab is in, there are a few tricks to try to get him out, especially if you can remove the rock from the tank.
If you can remove the rock from the tank:
Get a rubbermaid bin and a sheet of eggcrate. Wedge the eggcrate in the bin so that there is about 2-3" underneath the eggcrate. Mix up a batch of salt with a specific gravity of 1.033 or higher. Place the rock on the eggcrate. Sometimes it helps to also put food on the bottom of the bin under the eggcrate.
The hope is that the higher salinity combined with food will cause the crab to leave the rock in search of lower salinity/safer water. The food is just an extra lure.

so at about midnight in Geneva Switzerland I half sneaked in my room (in the dark) with the hope to see the the potentially "assholic" crab... AND IT HAPPENED! didnt get to take a pic of him though but i was wrong, his legs arnt yellow and black they are more white and black. when i saw him he was feeding on something or cleaning his face, the second i shon my toch light on him he ran in a hole, at least i know where he lives now!!!!
hes about twice the size of my squat lobseter, and seeing he feeds / comes out at night its a bad sign right?
the second i get to take a pic ill post it.
but like i said least i know where he lives now, im surprised he managed to unseal himself from the sand....FIGHTER!
